NHS ALLIANCE BREAK THROUGH CONFERENCE 2011
The NHS Alliance is an independent, non-political membership organisation which brings together GP Consortia, PCT Clusters, clinicians and managers to discuss and inform about the challenges the NHS face today. The Breakthrough Conference held at Manchester Central on 30th November - 1st December 2011 certainly posed some challenges for us. With the main auditorium holding talks and events throughout the day while various breakout rooms were being held simultaneously, it can't be said that we weren't kept busy.
Using our previous experience on this event and all of our team, we were able to overcome the challenges put forward. With a large build such as this, (sets going up in around 6 breakout rooms and the main set in the auditorium also having to be constructed) it was all hands to the pump! Although the breakout rooms were to be run by the presenters themselves, each area was designated one of our audio visual technicians should the need for some assistance arise.
In addition to the work going on in the breakout rooms and auditorium, we also provided a 'presentation hub' where speakers were advised to leave their presentation with us so that we could ensure they reached the room at the right time. This meant that when the speaker reached the room, their presentation was ready and waiting for them and helped to keep the fringe events running on time. The 'hub' also allowed for speakers to come and talk to our crew with any technical problems they may have been having or any advice on formats for additional videos they may be wanting to show during their presentations.
Also at the conference, exhibition stands were set up where clients were then able to hire from us various equipment that they may have been required. We got in touch with exhibitors months before the event to enquire whether they needed any equipment ranging from a variety of different sized plasma screens, to DVD players and laptops. As always, AN Event Services were on hand to help guarantee that these were set up correctly and to resolve any issues or provide extra support throughout the conference.
It is safe to say then that the NHS Alliance Breakthrough Conference was a huge event that certainly had its fair share of challenges, all of which our previous experience and expertise allowed us to overcome. We look forward to working alongside Health Links and NHS Alliance in the future.
