The Task:
We have supported Trinity Mirror Midlands and Birmingham Post & Mail now on a few of their events and so the task from that perspective was simple; to continue to provide the greatest support we knew how in order to put together a fantastic awards.
This year the awards were held at the Ricoh Stadium in Coventry in the Eon lounge- a large conference room for around 200 guests. We then had to create a set that would meet the size of the room and not be under whelmed in such a large space.
Not only were we to provide the set and staging but also we were given the task of creating the presentation that night highlighting the speakers, nominees, winners & sponsors.
The Solution:
By building a large trilite set and using two 12' x 9' screens and two 10' x 7.5' screens the set was able to compete and also allow for the presentation that night to be visable by all in the room no matter what angle they may have been sat at.
The presentation was created using Keynote, a presentation package on Apple that allowed for smoother, crisper and sharper results than usually achievable via PowerPoint. The software also gave a different variety of animations that gave a touch of glamour without being too much.
The use of impact sails both medium and large size gave drama to the awards while the use of star cloth on the backdrop added the glamour that is always needed at an awards such as this. In addition to the use of 500w par cans, floods and spots, gobo lighting was used to give a unique touch specific to that nights events. The use of live video relay throughout the event also helped to ensure that the overall presentation on the night was of the highest standard.
The Result:
The night was a spectacular one which recognised and rewarded businesses in the Coventry and Warwickshire for their success especially in these testing economic times. The quality of the set and staging speaks for itself in the pictures above and overall feedback on the events has been of the highest praise. We're glad that we could be a part of it.
